This BDO exam for Uttar Pradesh is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) in Rajasthan and Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) in Bihar.

1. Preliminary Examination

To become a BDO, first of all you have to give Preliminary Examination. There are 2 papers in this exam. General Studies 1 and General Studies 2. The first General Studies is of 200 numbers which consists of 150 questions. General Studies 2 is also of 200 numbers which consists of 100 questions.

All the questions in the preliminary examination are Objective Type. You will be able to take the next exam only after passing both the papers to be conducted in this exam.

2. Main Examination

The candidates who come to the Preliminary Examination can sit in the main examination. You have to be well prepared to clear this Main Exam. There are total 8 papers in this exam. All the papers are of 300-300 numbers, these are 8 papers:

  3. General Studies 1
  4. General Studies 2
  5. General Studies 3
  6. General Studies 4
  7. Optional Subject – Paper 1
  8. Optional Subject – Paper 1

General Hindi paper has 50 number questions, all questions are asked in Hindi. In Essay writing you will be given 3 topics out of which you have to choose a topic and write Essay on it for which you will get 3 hours and you will have to write this Essay in 700 marks.

There will be 4 papers of General Studies all of 200-200 marks. General Studies 1, 2 and 3 contain questions related to Economics, World Geography, Indian History and Current Affairs. General Studies 4 paper asks questions related to ethics.

Optional Subject Paper 1, 2 consists of questions based on 29 topics. You have to choose one of the 29 subjects. All questions will be based on the same topic.

3. Interview

After clearing the first two examinations of the Public Service Center, the candidates are selected for interview. Many types of questions are asked in the interview, all these questions are of 200 numbers. Numbers are given based on the candidate’s responses. A merit list is made by the PSC after the interview.
